Why Study at the AK Academy?

Our programs are presented with a clinical application focus blended with cutting edge research and science. Ranging from introductory short 'clinical' courses to Advanced modules, if you love manual muscle testing you'll love the program we have on offer.


With a team consisting of more than 60 years of clinical experience, teaching diplomates of the International College of Applied Kinesiology and having held developmental and research positions within the ICAK, the AK Academy team are experts in the field of manual Muscle testing.


Programs at the AK Academy cater to all with foundational programs in Applied Kinesiology, Advanced programs in the application of manual muscle testing and Clinical shorts providing clinical application of recent research and development. Our team embraces the role of online learning with our own specific online support group and tutorial programs.


To enroll in any of our main programs, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have an undergraduate in a health profession of at least 4 years duration
  • Be a licenced primary health care practitioner (AHPRA registered) or be in the final 2 years of your study


We do have some modules specifically designed for practitioners who wish to expand the manual muscle testing knowledge but do not meet this criteria. These are labelled as 'open program'.

Your Instructors

Dr. Trevor Chetcuti

Dr. Trevor is a Chiropractor, teaching Diplomate of Applied kinesiology, the current chair of the International Board of Research and Standards for the ICAK, a published researcher and certified in NET. He has been an invited speaker for many groups including the Australasian Academy of Functional Neurology, The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the international College of Applied Kinesiology, Myofocus education, TMD sleep residency, Pure Health Solutions and Sleepwell education. He has lectured in many areas around the world covering countries such as the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, France and Latvia. Trevor is a passionate, high energy teacher with experience in AK, Neuroimmunology, Nutrition, Sports and biochemistry.

Dr. Stephen Sassinis Shashyan

Dr. Stephen Shashyan is a dedicated Chiropractor, teaching Diplomate of the international College of Applied Kinesiology and the Secretary of the Internation Education Council for the ICAK. He is renowned for his expertise in holistic wellness, sports care and spinal health. With over two decades of experience, he combines advanced Chiropractic and AK techniques with a compassionate approach to care.

Dr. Alan Jenks

Dr. Alan Jenks is a Chiropractor and Applied Kinesiologist dedicated to holistic health. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from the University of Western States in 2001 and holds Diplomate status with the International Board of Applied Kinesiology (DIBAK) and Clinical Board of Nutrition (DCBCN). Since 2017, Alan has been pursuing a PhD in Health Sciences and Epidemiology in Canada, researching Chiropractic and low back pain in older adults. A certified teacher with the International College of Applied Kinesiology since 2012, a member of the International Board of Research and Standards for the ICAK and past chair of the International Board of Examiners, Alan is a highly respected practitioner and teacher and a valued member of our teaching group.
